Jose. A. Villegas Jr. was born in Springfield, MA in Baystate Hospital on May 18, 1973. He lived in Caguas, Puerto Rico in the Bairoa section where he began his studies at the Turabo University. Jose continued his studies at Baran Institute and Capital Community College in Connecticut. During his time in Bairoa, he played basketball. I Laura Garcia, created this website to honor my son Jose A. Villegas who passed away on October 31, 2014. I hope I can inspire others to follow their dreams just as my son Jose did. Jose Jr. earned a total of 67 awards before his death.
Every year Laura organizes events in honor of her son Jose. Some of the activities and events in Jose's memory have been participation in Hartford's Puerto Rican parade, organized dinners, and most recently a book fest event at the local library.
